Mr. Ottan, a seasoned professional in Project Evaluation, Finance and Management, holds a degree in Economics from Ahmadu Bello University. He worked with the State Internal Revenue Board, Maiduguri in 1981 where his main duty was receipt and processing of applications for Tax Clearance Certificates.

He worked briefly as a Project Officer in the Department of Small Scale Industries Credit Scheme (SSIC) atthe Kwara State Ministry of Commerce and Industry.

He  joined the then Nigerian Industrial Development Bank (NIDB), now Bank of Industry (BOI), in 1982 and rose through the ranks to Senior Manager/Head in the Aba and Abuja Zonal Offices as well as Principal Manager/Head in Lagos Zonal Office, and Principal Manager, in the Regional Office-South, to become the Bank’s Assistant General Manager (Southern Operation).

He voluntarily retired from the service of Bank of Industry in 2013.

He is currently on the Board of Directors of several companies including Champion Breweries Plc, a subsidiary of Heinekens BV of Netherlands.
